Stil: Moderne

Vita / Lebenslauf:
African-Canadian artist Yisa Akinbolaji has extensively exhibited his artworks nationally and internationally starting with his first solo show at the National Museum, Lagos, Nigeria in 1984. He was recognized as a leading Nigerian artist with his work and biography included in, \'Nigerian Artists: A Who’s Who and Bibliography, Hans Zell, 1993\', 1993, compiled and edited by Bernice Kelly and Janet L. Stanley of the Smithsonian Institute Libraries, Washington. Since he moved to Canada In 1997, Mr. Akinbolaji has used his colorful artistic approach to express human encounters. Yisa is imaginative and speaks profound messages through his art forms masterfully. Over the years his work has been featured in the newspaper, discussed on the radio, and shown on television. Yisa\'s continued experimentation in oil, acrylic, printmaking and mosaic installation has resulted in his invented technique of \'Ekoyo. This style is reminiscent of tie-die and batik. Yisa is working to engage ‘Ekoyo’ in his figurative forms in printmaking, oil and acrylic works. From Yisa Akinbolaji’s web site, www.yisatheartist.com you can see more of his art works.
