Statement:
My work is a reflection of me. I paint my feelings, experiences, dreams and music inspired visions. When I look at my world without questioning it, the creative process is automatic. My compositions are spontaneous. Each surreal piece evolves intuitively as I work on it, often surprising me of its magical outcome. My pieces are a joy to create. The most valuable consideration of my work is how it moves the viewer, how it speaks to you on a personal level. Every viewer perceives a painting differently therefore no reason for me to explain what it means. My titles will give you a clue. So, it is up to you.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
I began drawing at age six and began painting in oils at age thirteen. I studied oil painting privately in the 1960s and studied Graphic Design at the Fort Mason Art Center in San Francisco, Ca. in the early 1980s. However, I am degree-free.
I have received recognition from The Artists Magazine for my surrealism and still lifes. My work has been exhibited in various galleries and businesses from San Francisco, Ca. to Palm Beach, Fl. and from Seattle, Wa. to Santa Fe, NM.in the USA. My first exhibition in Europe was in the 2011 Biennale in Florence, It. and I just returned from Italy, 9/2012 where I exhibited 2 paintings in a Museum show and won 3rd place in the competition. April 2013 - London show. It was a great trip! Many of my pieces are in private collections, a considerable number having been commissioned.
Aktivitäten / Ausstellungen:
Sept.15-22, 2012 - An upcoming exhibition in Italy, again. The Chianciano Art Museum Award 2012 Show in Chianciano Terme, Italy. I will be attending the show in beautiful Tuscany!
I WON! I won the Third Place Prize in the Chianciano Art Museum Award 2012 show, out of 100 exhibiting artists! I had a wonderful time in Italy. The Museum show co-ordinators and staff were great to work with.
My next show will be in London, UK at the Gagliardi Gallery in the Chelsea area. Show will open April 19 and close April 26, 2013. This will be a group show. I plan to attend.
