Statement:
I am an active artist working with different materials and contemporary tools such as digital camera and a large printer. Some of my works are giclee witch is a mixture of traditional acrylic paint and the printed image. I work with and vibrant tropical colors that represent my cultural identity.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Luisa Elena Betancourt is a multidisciplinary artist and Fulbright scholar with a Master of Fine Arts from Washington State University (1992). She exhibits intensely since 1983, combining her artistic career with teaching. In 1999 she founded the Centro Multidisciplinario de Arte Contemporáneo in Valencia, Venezuela, where artists and students attend seminars that deal with contemporary artistic issues.
Luisa Betancourt gives conferences and seminars, shows her work nationally and internationally in solo and group shows and writes frequently about art in art related publications. Her work is in private and public collections. She has been honored with the Fulbright Fifty Year Button and Universidad del Zulia´s Centenary Button. She was invited as panelist at the Women’s Caucus for Art Beyond the Boundaries, an international perspective, Seattle WA. 1993. She lives between Maracaibo, Valencia and the cloud forest of Gabante, Venezuela.
Aktivitäten / Ausstellungen:
I spend my time working in my studio and
in art related activities, presenting solo shows once a year in USA or in Venezuela. I give art related seminars. I have a digital art studio where I do digital collages and print my giclee art. My web page where visitors can see more of my work is
