City of Brighton, Brighton, Michigan. 2005 – Present. Curator, Brighton Biennial 2006. Developed the City of Brighton’s first outdoor large scale public sculpture exhibit. Responsible for concept, show design, site preparation, artist acquisition, installation of foundations, installation of sculpture. Raised over 150K for the establishment of a bi-annual sculpture exhibit in downtown Brighton. Planning, approval and implementation of 27 large scale sculptures and sponsors.

Artworks for Life. Ferndale Michigan. Steering Committee2004 to Present. A live and silent auction of original artworks presented featuring more than 200 original works of art by the Detroit Metropolitan area’s most prominent artists. Raised over $90,000/year on average for MAPP Charity.

Livingston Arts and Culture Consortium. Brighton, Michigan. Chairperson. 2002 to 2005. Recognize contributions to the advancement of the arts in Livingston County through the Blue Lantern Award. Serve as a Clearing house for arts related events and projects. Provide outreach programs to the community.

City of Brighton, Brighton, Michigan. 2002 – 2006. Chairperson Mayor’s Commission on Art in Public Places. Developed the City of Brighton’s public art collection. Responsible developing and planning the City of Brighton’s blueprint for public art. Fundraising, grant writing, public relations, Coordinating social, arts and cultural exhibits and programs.

Brighton International Film Festival, Brighton Michigan, 2000 to 2006, Executive Director. Founder, handling all aspects from concept to establishment of annual International film festival. The Brighton International Film Festival purpose is to develop, encourage, sponsor, and otherwise support the appreciation, production, and growth of independent, community, and alternative media arts in southeast Michigan and the surrounding region. Special attention is placed on the encouragement of K-12 student film production. Rated as one of the top film festivals in North America by Film Festival Survival Guide 2005. Represented at the 2005 Festival De Cannes, Cannes, France.

Founder, The Brighton Art Expo serves statewide as an advocate for greater cooperation with artists, producers, students, and other media art centers holding similar goals. Offering artists and students a chance to exchange cultural ideas.

Developed an art collections survey and distributed it among the Big Ten Universities and select colleges and universities within ACU-I’s region seven, and identified criteria to be used in the formation of the MSU Union Collection. Compiled information from Michigan State University departments in the areas of space planning, liability, production planning, funding, arts management, resource development, and art selection procedures.

Gained working knowledge in the management of a world class performing arts center; focusing on the areas of marketing, audience development, box office, staging, house manager, community development, and executive management; Special attention was placed on proposal writing, fundraising and donor relations, under the direction of the College of Arts and Letters Development Officer.

Michigan Commission on Art in Public Places, Detroit, Michigan. 1987 to 1988, Executive Assistant, Operated the commission under the general supervision of the Executive Director; managed an office staff of three while handling areas of budgeting, contract processing and accounting; assisted in coordination of competitions; and kept summaries of Art in Public Places projects in other states cities and municipalities; trained office staff in NBI and Wang word processing equipment. December, 1987 to September, 1988

Michigan Commission on Art in Public Places, Detroit, Michigan. 1987 to 1988, Art Registrar. Duties included the preparation and execution of an inventory of state-owned art work. Responsible for visiting the various departments of the state, colleges, universities, and historic organizations to catalog works of art. Cataloging process included recording all pertinent information, measuring, and photographing works of art. All inventory data is entered into the DARIS computer system and prepared for publication.

Michigan Gallery, Detroit, Michigan. 1988, Gallery Intern. Assisted in the day-to-day operation of a non-profit gallery, while responsible for curatorial duties, advertising and installation of exhibits. Served as contributing writer to the gallery catalogs and newsletters.

Crawford Studios, Detroit, Michigan. 1987 to 1989, Artist Assistant. Planning and coordinating artist exhibit schedule. Assisted in planning, preparation and execution of stone and metal sculpture.

Associated Students of Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. 1986 to 1987, Student Body President. Managed an executive staff of 10 paid student personnel, an in-house law firm consisting of three full time attorneys, and an in-house advertising agency.
