Jean Noon has owned and operated a small sheep farm in southern Maine since 1971 when she graduated with an Art and Agriculture degree from Goddard College in Vermont. In 1973 she married her sweetheart, Bill Noon and they raised two boys. They purchased their current farm in 1974 and continue to raise organic sheep and hay. Jean taught art in the public schools for over ten years. Currently she is content working on her sculpture, farm, and in farmland preservation.
\"I am a maker driven to keep producing objects. As a farmer I build and maintain the wire fences to contain my animals. My sculpture is an extension of fencing. I draw through space with wire. Wire becomes the structure to contain and communicate ideas. Animal forms and physical gestures inspire the work. Pieces are composed of various materials including used sheep fence wire, rocks from the fields, and wood.\"
