Born in Cumbria, England 1982.
Being creative was always something that felt quite natural to me growing up. During my early education it was painting that was my main area of interest although this was followed for a short while during my Foundation Degree by Photography. However, I came back to my first interest of painting as it allowed me to express myself more fully, and led me to pursue a career as an artist.
It has been within the last 4 years that I have started producing art on a professional basis and within this short space of time I have been asked to complete both private and corporate commissions, as well as selling works to collectors around the country. In 2008 I was added to the Who’s Who in Art.
About my work….
My work is inspired by the little details of life that are often overlooked in the greater scope of things, such as an empty coffee cup on a stained table or a chair that has been left vacant. These images may appear insignificant in a busy environment like a restaurant or a hotel room, but they are filled with latent energy of what had taken place previously or what is to happen next. Narrative is important in my work as the image is not used solely as a still life composition but as a means to create a balance between human interaction and activity.
