Statement:
This series of ancient Chinese characters is to search a long journey of human intelligence that started with pictography in early civilizations and rested but not yet ended in bio-image of modern science. These characters, twisted and expanded but recognizable, metamorphosed from the artifacts behind glass of museums into human-like creatures. Full of vitality, vigor, and humor, they are engaged primary communication with the recent sensibility and exploration in our time.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Was born in Beijing.
lived in Harbin for a decade.
Sent to a farm in Yunnan during the Cultural Revolution.
Was self-exiled to the United states three decades ago.
