He graduates in graphic design at IADE in Lisbon. After working in several design and advertising agencies he is invited in 2006 to join thestudio as creative director and partner.

In parallel with his activity at thestudio, and with growing interest in exploring and working on contemporary art concepts, he has been developing his artistic activity in partnership with Juan Carmona since 2018.

Their collaborative artwork can be seen throughout Portugal, from installations in renowned firms in Lisbon and Oporto to five star hotel “Bairro Alto Hotel” in Lisbon.

André Ribeiro and Juan Carmona’s exhibition “Steal Art” can be seen in Munoz Carmona Art&Gallery in Lisbon until January 2021.

When not in Lisbon or Germany, he can be found somewhere in Portugal’s west coast in a house without phone or internet.

Current Exhibition:
"Steal Life" - André Ribeiro/Juan Carmona

This is an exhibition about sense of ownership.

More than cataloguing the reality that surround is, its aim is to make us question our relationship with nature in its essence – a means of examining the concept of sense of of appropriation intrinsic to the human condition.

The use of living beings for our entertainment and enjoyment is so ingrained in society that we do not question its “humanity”.

Unlike traditional representations of still life, “Steal Life” is an artistic interpretation of human interaction with all living matter, focusing on our exploitation and false sense of power over life and death.

It is a view of the eternal human interface.

Currently exhibiting in the Munoz Carmona Art&Gallery in Lisbon (www.munozcarmonagallery.com).
